The Holy Pilgrim was the first religious image that arrived at this town in the middle of the 17th century, which bestows it with great historical value. Known as The Pilgrim, The Petite or The Bearded Virgin, it came floating in from the sea in a box alongside a document that registered the saint, saying 'This is Saint Wilgefortis', hence she was referred to by this name.
