It is located in western Panama. The Central mountain range or Serranía de Tabasará crosses the comarca from west to east, dividing it into two geographic regions. The Atlantic or Caribbean region is 40% covered by primary forest and the rivers are short but large. The Pacific region is heavily deforested and its longer rivers drain into the sea.
How to arrive
- Plane: A flight from the Marcos A. Gelabert airport in Panama City to the airport in Chiriquí or Bocas del Toro will take around 45 to 55 minutes.Once you land take ground transportation to the region you wish to visit.
- Car: If you drive by highway directly from the capital, it should take from 6 to 8 hours, depending on which part of the indigenous territory you plan to visit.
