This church is located between A Street and 8th Avenue in Panama City's Old Town district. Its beautifully crafted baroque altar dates back to the 17th century.

Legend has it that priests painted the Golden Altar with black oil to conceal its true value and thus prevent looting attacks by the pirate Morgan.
