The villages of Cuango and Santa Isabel, located on the upper coast of Colón Province, have beaches that are considered highly attractive for tourism, with their white sand and clear waters.
The ATP will hold the approval meeting of technical and legal aspects for the project tender on June 25, 2013, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The ATP specified that the project under consideration is a completely paved two-way highway stretching 25 to 30 kilometers long.
Salo Shamah, the ATP Minister, indicated that, "the highway will permit the arrival and departure of tourists, as well as attract other investments by private enterprise in the province of Colón."
The ceremony to receive tenders is scheduled for July 9th. Proposals may be submitted starting at 9:00 a.m. and until 11:00 a.m., when the bid envelopes will be opened.
The province of Colón has diverse tourist attractions, including World Heritage Sites. Since colonial times it has been an obligatory stopover on global trade routes, and its inhabitants cultivate the traditions inherited from their ancestors.
