One is the Turega River, running alongside the hill named likewise. You may hike on trails in the surrounding area but must go with a guide, who can be contracted at El Águila Artisans Association's office in the village center. Handicrafts like the painted hat and other accessories woven out of palm fronds are for sale here. Another river is Sofre, which can be reached only on foot in an hour's hike.
A paved road leads from Penonomé to El Águila and onwards to Antón Valley.
