Tusipono Emberá Community

Last Sunday June 24 we had an adventure in the Tusipono Emberá village, located along the upper Chagres River. The adventure began on the banks of that river, where we boarded a piragua, a traditional boat, to travel upriver.

Along the way we passed the most important site, the San Juan waterfall with a cascade of crystal-clear water. Upon arrival at the Emberá village, we were welcomed by the sound of chimbonbon, the traditional music of that community. We were also given an excellent presentation of their traditional dance, which we were invited to participate in. Then we saw an exhibition of their various handicrafts and Jagua painting, and finally enjoyed their delicious traditional food.

Our visitors experienced a completely unique adventure in this fascinating community.
