Fishing on the city's shore

¿Fishing in Panama City?

Well, now you know that this activity can be done. Panama, on the shores of the Pacific Ocean, has all sorts of surprises in store, and one is being able to go fishing, where you can choose between fresh and salt water just steps apart.

If you choose to go freshwater fishing

Gatún Lake, one of the largest artificial lakes in the world, which was created in 1913 during construction of the massive engineering project to create the Canal, you will find that its 425 square kilometers are home to fish species such as sergeant, also called peacock bass, oscar, sea bass and Atlantic tarpon, also known as the silver king, which despite being an ocean fish can adapt well to freshwater. Enjoy observing the rich flora and fauna of the Canal watershed along the lake shores while you fish.

Saltwater fishing has a specific site

The Amador Causeway, where young and old anglers come to a fishing hut to spend some leisure time together and hope to be lucky enough to catch something. These fishermen have several ways of practicing their hobby, ranging from the formal fishing rod to the simplest rig-up of an empty pop can with a hook tied to a nylon string, to try and lure the fish in and later enjoy them cooked in one our Creole dishes.

Bahia Piña, For those who enjoy nature and adventures at sea, Piñas Bay in the province of Darien, is the ideal place. This bay, recognized as the fishing paradise of the Black Marlin, has been the scene of countless powers, which have broken more than 250 global brands; is visited by people from all parts of the world.

Guna Yala, The San Blas islands have been formed by the accumulation of coral and are lined with palm trees and white sand beaches that are indescribable. The ocean at different depths and infinite shades of blue and turquoise, dazzling underwater coral gardens, excellent for fishing.

Armed with patience, awareness of the changing climatic conditions in this Central American metropolis, a little money and some creativity, you can have some healthy fun.
