There are various types of equitation, consisting of training horses to jump a series of obstacles in a particular order. In dressage, they must go on a route without ever having trained on it, which requires that the horse be very attentive to the commands of its jockey. There is also the cross country race that tests skill, speed and endurance.
In Panama, the XXIV Version of the Equitation Championship was held in the Golden Castle Equitation Club located in Villa Lobos in Pedregal. Some 110 jockeys participated in this important event, where Spanish thoroughbred horses were sold, an impressive market that is continuing to grow in Panama.
Children, youth and adults participated in the event, which generated more competition among the jockeys and the different equitation clubs in Panama. Healthy competition motivates continuous improvement and in turn benefits the entire sport discipline.
