Cambutal Island

This beach near Tonosí in the province of Los Santos, on the famous Azuero Peninsula, is ideal for surfers. The region is bounded by mountains, but it has its own jewel of the sea. "In Cambutal, there are several points where the wave breaks, and each one has a different name: there is '411', which breaks from right to left and runs at mid to high tide. There is also the 'dinosaur ', which has a reef bottom, and "short-circuit", known because in the summer at low tide it becomes a tubular wave."

The village of Cambutal is located at the southern tip of Panama's Azuero Peninsula in the province of Los Santos.

How to arrive?

Car: From Panama City, take the Interamerican Highway until Divisa, where you turn off towards Las Tablas, capital of the province of Los Santos. Upon arriving at the main park, in front of the Church of Santa Librada, turn left and then right at the second street, following the road to the village of Tonosí. Continue to the village of Cambutal, where you will cross a small bridge and the sea will come into view.
