Good touristic boom in Free Zone

A total of 97 thousand 426 tourists have visited- so far in 2012 - the Colón Free Zone, a figure supplied by the Public Relations Department to this newspaper.

Visits by foreigners are increasing , until the end of August 2011, it was reported the arrival of 80 thousand 134 tourists.

Colombians, Venezuelans and Ecuadoreans are the ones , who most reach the Colón Free Zone.

'With the large influx of tourists,they benefit themselves indirectly, the shops in the center of the city, "said Marco Zarate, head of the Tourism Departament of the Colón

Chamber of Commerce.

The entrepreneur Michael Chen, manager of the store (Vanidades)Vanities, located on Avenida Bolívar , who has been for 48 years with doors opened to the public, said that,

they developed an aggressive program, trying to make the town more attractive for tourism .
