Brazilians visiting the isthmus

A total of 116 Brazilian tourism operators will meet with representatives of the hotel industry in Panama City.

The operators come from Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte, Sao Paolo, Porto Alegre, Recife and Brasilia. They arrived last Thursday, October 4 and will spend five days visiting Panama, including trips to Miraflores, in the Canal, and Bocas del Toro.

The tour operators, lodged at the Westin Playa Bonita, met with Pedro Heilbron, CEO of Copa Airlines, and Salomón Shamah, Minister of the Panama Tourism Authority.

Arrivals of Brazilian tourists at Tocumen International Airport rose by 60% in the first half of 2012.

A total of 31,559 Brazilians flew from the South American country, 11,853 more than during the same period the previous year.

Brazilian tourists enjoy Panama for its shopping, casinos and nightlife. Their visits, which we support, is evidence of a great success by Copa Airlines to develop tourism in Panama, indicated the CEO of this airline.
