Painted Hat Festival celebrated

In La Pintada a parade was held in celebration of the Second Painted Hat Festival.

The cart pulling the National Lottery, which was decorated with scenes of the La Pintada countryside, was one of the most colorful entries in this parade.

In Antón, the parade in honor of the National Brave Bull Festival began at 3:00 p.m. with more than 20 carts, among them those of the Municipality of Antón and the National Institute of Culture (INAC).

Each cart displayed elements of Antón culture and lifestyle, and were accompanied by the cheerful sounds of singing groups playing a bell-like mortar, an instrument unique to this town, while they provoked the brave bull.

The parade ended at approximately 6:00 in the evening.

The queen of the Brave Bull Festival, Alicia Aurora Aguilar Ortega, closed the parade with enthusiastic applause from locals and visitors.
