The official stressed that this decision was made in order to make the parade more traditional and less commercial, because they want visitors, particularly foreigners, to fully experience Panamanian culture.

For the parade next January 12, 2013, more than 11,000 different fashions of pollera skirts will be on display to over 200,000 visitors in Las Tablas.
