New Decameron for Colón

The construction of a new hotel by the international resort company Decameron, projected for the Upper Coast of Colón province, will signify a major opportunity for tourism development in the area, as well as a new place of employment for the residents.

That is the perception held by the manager of the Panama Tourism Authority (ATP), Salomón Shamah, who confirmed that "the government is committed to constructing a road to the new Decameron that is being built in the Upper Coast of Colón, in order to facilitate tourism development there."

Shamah explained that the highway would run along the Upper Coast of Colón, and the estimated cost of the public work is around 10 million dollars. Details on the project shall be decided by authorities of the Ministry of Public Works (MOP).

Authorities of the ATP claim that this arrival of a Decameron in Colón will represent a number of advantages, which will further strengthen Panama's position as a beach destination.
