Tourism Authority achieves perfect score on transparency

A new distinction was awarded to the agency for having achieved the top standards in compliance with the Principle of Publicity, as part of Act 6 on transparency.

The Panama Tourism Authority (ATP) was given a perfect score of 100 points in all evaluations done by the National Council on Transparency Against Corruption in 2012.

According to a statement released by the Executive Secretary of this organization, the ATP achieved the highest standards in compliance with the Principle of Publicity, as part of Act 6 on transparency that governs standards for government agencies. Its objectives are to reach the most rigorous standards, improving access to information generated by the activities of state institutions.

A total of 24 operational areas of this tourism institution, such as Employment of Officers, Public Procurement Acts, Trips, Travel Allowances, Budget Structure and Execution were evaluated before awarding ATP a perfect score.

The ATP had already previously been honored for its operational transparency, as it received the 2011 Prism Award given by the National Council of Transparency.
