This 34th agricultural encounter in Chepo will offer its visitors livestock exhibitions, lasso competitions, performances by Paso Fino horses, milking contests, cattle and horse shows and the popular cow branding.
In addition, experts from Texas Christian University in the United States will give technical lectures on raising livestock.
The worldwide market for cattle and beef and forage feeding in the tropics are some of the topics that the guest experts will address on Saturday starting at 9:00 a.m., reported Ovidio Saavedra, president of the fair board of the livestock event.
After the lectures, the traditional cattle auction will begin. The diverse breeds of animals available for breeding and slaughtering include the Simbrah, Brahman, Senepol, Gyr, Nelor, Guzarat, Simmental, Angus, Beef Master and brown Swiss. An animal will sell for $700 to $2,000, depending on its size, sex and breed. This year's livestock meeting in Chepo will recognize the breeding experience of Tomás Gabriel Altamirano Duque.
