The distances will grow longer in April, when there will first be a 5 km race sponsored by Metro Pharmacy and then another along the banks of the Panama Canal with the distances of 5, 10 and 21 kilometers.
Gregorio Miró, president of the sports organization, highlighted on the calendar the Asics Circuit, a total of five races that start in June and end in October, with distances increasing from 5 to 21 kilometers.
Another competition that stands out is the 21 km race on August 18 in the City of Knowledge. On November 17, the World Boxing Association will sponsor its anti-drugs race. The running calendar wraps up in December with a 42 kilometer race in the Grand International Marathon by Adidas.
There are 21 races in total. Ricardo Rivera, executive of the running club, pointed out that behind every race there is a lot of hard training, safety and hydration strategies and much marketing work. Miró also noted that the calendar is specially designed to create opportunities for the runners to develop their abilities. He also indicated that the awards and scholarships available to runners get better every time.
“Our club is a meeting place for trainers, elite runners, amateurs, companies and running shoe brands, among other aspects that propel the Panama Triathlon Union towards further growth,” said its leader Miró.
