A decade later, fair organizers decided to make the event more attractive by including folk shows, sporting events, dances and conferences. Today, hundreds of artisans from other countries come to participate, bringing with them their products and folklore.
Each year the artisans outdo themselves, turning their craftwork into some genuine works of art.
In 1986 the National Fair of Colón was officially recognized as a national festival and was provided ample fairgrounds at Quirós Park, with a capacity to entertain large audiences.
