Expectations
The Panamanian Chamber of Construction reaffirms its commitment to its members and the industry as a whole, especially with Panama, by programming this event and promoting the sale of real estate products.
Exhibitors and exhibition area
This year nearly 400 companies will participate in the fair, 20% more than in 2012. Hall 1 will be set up on the first floor, and it consists of a tent attached to the premises of the convention center, creating an additional 1,000 m2 of space. This addition will enlarge the exhibition space to over 18,000 m2, the biggest exhibition area in ATLAPA to date.
In its early years, the fair was aimed at highlighting the technical and construction side of the industry, placing an emphasis on hosting expositions of the materials, equipment and main supplies used in construction. In essence, it was an event organized by builders, for builders and suppliers of goods and services.
However, in response to the dynamics of the sector and committed to change along with the rapidly shifting demands of modern times, in 1993 a new stage began for the fair, introducing the concept of CAPAC Expo Habitat under the motto of “Everything for the home, including the home.”
This period was notable for the growing participation of companies that promote housing projects, and so CAPAC Expo Habitat became a real estate facilitator and promoter of business operations in constructed projects.
Between 1993 and 1998, new ways to stimulate the interest of exhibitors and visitors were incorporated, such as including academic programs like seminars, technical conferences and lectures, which every year motivate a higher participation of professionals and students taking industry-related courses.
In 1998, the expo achieved a massive participation by banking entities and financial institutions, which facilitated conducting a significant number of mortgage transactions during the exhibition, leading to the final result of purchase-sale operations of real estate properties.
