St. Peter Patron Saint Festival

The majestic St. Peter Patron Saint Festival in La Colorada, Veraguas is celebrated with the traditional Mass and praying of novenas, followed by a procession all around the picturesque town.

At dawn, the townspeople begin their festive habit of proclaiming “St. Peter has arrived!” Children, youth and adults in every corner of La Colorada excitedly shout this announcement.

One of the customs in each household is to share among the visitors the traditional roast pork, bun, a rice pudding called bienmesabe and colorful caramel spreads.

You can also participate in the traditional horseback parades, singing, drumming and dancing that are popular in this area when St. Peter's birthday is celebrated.
