Panama LOGISTICS EXPO is the ideal place to make business contacts and get updated on the latest trends in the field of logistics.
For the seventh consecutive year, the Panama Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture (CCIAP) and the National Secretariat of Science, Technology and Innovation (SENACYT), are organizing the Panama LOGISTICS EXPO 2013, to be held from September 19 to 21.
This year, they expect the attendance of numerous national and international companies and exhibitors in the fields of technology and software, along with representatives of freight forwarders, airlines, freight shippers and the equipment needed to manage logistics for companies.
Adolfo Noriega, President of the Panama LOGISTICS EXPO 2013 Organizing Committee, highlighted how “in its six years, the exhibition has managed to become one of the top three in its category in the region. One of the main draws of this fair is the lecture series, which allow local and international professionals to be trained and empowered by international experts on logistics and multimodal transportation.”
The President of the Panama Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture, Irvin A. Halman, stated that the Chamber of Commerce and SENACYT have been organizing this fair since 2007 with the aim of supporting the National Strategy for the logistics industry, thus helping to boost the potential of this sector, which contributes nearly 25% of the national Gross Domestic Product.
Halman added that “very soon, with the Panama Canal expansion and the increased capacity of our port terminals, the country's competitive advantages will become more apparent, more attractive, more modern and more productive, leading us down the right path to become the most important supply chain and logistics processing management center in the hemisphere.”
Rubén Berrocal, the National Secretary of Science, Technology and Innovation, declared that “SENACYT is committed to our nation's development, and that includes decisively strengthening the logistics sector, which is why for the seventh consecutive year we have joined forces with the Chamber of Commerce to carry out the LOGISTICS EXPO with a $25,000 investment. With the Canal Expansion project approaching completion, it opens up an impressive horizon in logistics, where we will have more and first-time users whom we will provide an added value in the full range of logistics services. SENACYT is dedicated to helping to optimize the existing supply chains and to train personnel in this industry.”
