ANAM approves environmental impact study for new amphitheater

The National Environmental Authority (ANAM) approved the environmental impact assessment (EIA) of the new convention center planned to be built at the Amador Causeway.

With the approval of the Class II EIA, the HPC-Contrata-P&V consortium, which was awarded $193.7 million for construction of the project, may now present the approved civil work plans to the Panama City Hall.

Yadira González, responsible for the project in representation of the Panama Tourism Authority, indicated that the ground-breaking in Amador could take place in late March.

The new convention center will measure 40,000 square meters and will be built on an 11 hectare lot of land located behind the Figali amphitheater.
