Visitors can observe diverse plants and animals on a tour of this place that can take a little over an hour, depending on how long you stop at each of the enclosures.
This zoo houses some 80 species of animals, most of which are birds such as the ostrich, toucan, and peacock.
There are also mammals and reptiles, and several species of amphibians can be seen inside the Amphibian Exhibition Center.
In addition, the nursery showcases ornamental and fruit plants. Some are for sale if anyone wants to bring a souvenir back home.
The zoo's opening hours are from Monday to Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The entrance fee is $3 for Panamanian adults and $1 for children under 12 years. Adult foreigners pay $5 and children $2.
