Samanta Alonso and Malena Toral made it into the fourth repechage round, in first and second place, respectively. Despite the wave conditions not being the best, the two Panamanian girls gave it their all and did not leave any options to the other two contestants.
Day 4 of the Reef ISA World Surfing Games 2013 brought a slight increase in the waves and an impressive performances from the world’s best surfers. Once again, due to an extremely low tide, the event began just before noon.
The opening event of the Reef ISA World Surfing Games began at 10:00 a.m. with the traditional Parade of Nations. All of the teams paraded to the park in Soná for the Sand Ceremony, where every country poured sand from their country's beach into a transparent tank in an act that symbolizes how the love of surfing peacefully unites all nations.
