It starts with great enthusiasm the third version of Expoturismo International Panama 2012, Panama tourism fair, which serves to offer our best products and touristic attractions to wholesalers, who come from Latin America and Europe.
With the participation of 140 international buyers, the third version of Expotourism will start, tomorrow.It is a kind of meeting, where the private enterprise aims to increase
the marketing of domestic destinations.
Annette Cardenas, president of the Panamanian Chamber of Tourism, and organizer of the event, said that this year they hope to exceed 300 thousand business meetings
that occurred last year when 101 buyers took part in some 15 countries.
From the beginning of April 2013 and for the whole year, the Spanish line Pullmantur will keep a ship leaving from Colón.
This Friday,the arrival of the Coral Princess, with 974 thousand passengers, marked the start of the 2012-2013 season of cruises in the country.
Between January and August, there was na entry of 999 thousand 651 tourists through the Tocumen International Airport, while at Paso Canoa 110 thousand 311 tourists entered.
Panama has received more tourists as compared to last year. In the first eight months of the year, it was registered the entry of 1 million 390 thousand visitors, representing an increase of 6.4% over the period of 2011.
A total of 97 thousand 426 tourists have visited- so far in 2012 - the Colón Free Zone, a figure supplied by the Public Relations Department to this newspaper.
Visits by foreigners are increasing , until the end of August 2011, it was reported the arrival of 80 thousand 134 tourists.
