The XXXIII International Tourism Fair (FITUR) opens this Wednesday in Madrid with a loaded Latin American agenda, and which will begin the prior evening with the XVI Latin American Conference of Tourism Ministers and Businessmen (CIMET).
More than 5,000 people from around the world will arrive in Panama to attend the IX  World Conference and celebrate the 50th anniversary of the World Missionary Movement.
The Panamanian bobsled team, Spirit of Panama, completed the third heat of the Bobsled and Skeleton World Championship with a time of 1:08.47 minutes, a record that put them in 32nd place in the competition.

La mañana del domingo 27 de enero, desde las 10am se dio inicio con la Caminata de Recibimiento “Únete” con el Padrino Emilio Regueira de Rabanes, quien fue recibido con murga, desde el Muelle hacia la Plaza donde lo esperaban extranjeros y nacionales.

Day 1: The Day of Tourism and Tropical Night on the Beach began with an inauguration by the Ambassador of Spain to Panama, Jesús Silva Fernández, who was greeted by the Mayor of Taboga, José Chirú, and a traditional Panamanian drumming and choral singing group. The objective of the Sea Festival is to actively promote programs and events on the island, seeking the development of sustainable tourism on Taboga. The island is highlighted as a treasure to be discovered on the tourist map for regional and international visitors.
