Preliminar del Miss Panamá

After several weeks of preparation, the long-awaited Miss Panama beauty pageant has reached its final stretch. Ilka Ender, one of the pageant organizers, commented that it has been a very difficult process to select the candidates, as they had to choose only 19 girls out of the 97 who registered for the competition.

The preliminary round is programmed for this coming March 4 at 8:00 p.m. in the Hotel Riu, where 12 contestants will be selected for the grand final, which will take place on April 30 at 8:00 p.m. in the Anayansi Theater.

“This year's preliminary will be judged by 13 to 15 jurors, some of whom are sponsors, and we will also have 'The Misses Panel', in which a former Miss Panama will be able to weigh in on her favorite participant,” explained Ender.

She added that this year, for the first time, there will be no ballgown parade in the final round, since the contestants' costumes will be on display to the public in Albrook Mall so that they can send a text message voting for the best dress to represent Panama internationally in the Miss Universe pageant.

The pageant organizer informed that the grand final will decide which girls will represent Panama in the Miss Central America pageant to be held in Ecuador and the Miss Intercontinental in Germany. The reigning Virginia Hernández, who was already crowned Miss Panama and will represent her country at the Miss Universe pageant in Indonesia, will also be present at this event.

Musical entertainment at the preliminary round will be provided by the guest artists Martín Machore, Manuel Araúz and Ingrid de Ycaza, while the event hosts will be Miguel Herrera and Karen Jordán. Tickets are now available for purchase at all Blockbusters and Tuboleto.com.
