More than 250 travel and tourism agents who are members of the Latin American Confederation of Tourism Organizations (COTAL) will hold a four-day meeting in Panama from November 21st to 24th, intended to pool their criteria on new tourism trends, present information on their members' offers, and swap knowledge about market behavior.

This will be the fourth time that this over 50-year-old international organization gathers in Panama. The Hotel Riu has been designated as the meeting venue.

The conference will generate 1,000 hotel nights. For the attendees, all businessmen and women in the tourism industry who make and implement decisions in international markets, the visit will also allow them to get to know Panama's tourist products and hotels, points out Michelle Guizado, coordinator of the event.

Ernesto Tito Reina of APAVIT, a member organization of COTAL, notes that Panama has an extraordinary infrastructure for these types of meetings, and all of the visitors will have the chance to see it first-hand. "What's more, it is very easy to reach Panama, due to its excellent air connectivity with the Tocumen airport," he added.

The Panama Tourism Authority is supporting this conference, where international speakers will address such topics as tourism and the environment, dining, and technology.
