International tourism fair ends

The International Tourism Fair (FITUR) in Madrid came to a close yesterday with an optimistic balance from the business forecast for the sector in the exercise just begun.

"The balance is very optimistic. There is confidence in the good business prospects for the sector in 2014," fair director Ana Larrañaga told the news agency EFE. Once again this year FITUR reunited the two sides of the industry: the professional, which brought more than 120,000 participants during the first three days, and the general public. The challenge now, Larrañaga explained, is in "keeping the market loyal and becoming even more competitive."
