The event organizers officially announced that the soft drink brand Orange Crush will be the main sponsor of the eighth version of CULTURE ON WHEELS, which will take place this Sunday, April 13 from 10 am to 8 pm. Tickets cost $6.00 during presale and $8.00 on the day of the event, in addition to a container of ORANGE CRUSH.
Karen Quintero, manager of the brand ORANGE CRUSH, made brief remarks to the media present to detail the company's involvement as the main sponsor.
Randy Campos, manager of the company DERTY, described this year's new skate circuit he designed and built exclusively for CULTURE ON WHEELS.
Freestyle motorcross athletes Rudy Waller and Jason Thorne shared their excitement in once again participating in this mega production and explained what they will be bringing to the event's most extreme show.
The driving force behind this event since its inception has been a passion for skateboarding, and the degree of discipline has vastly improved with every additional skate competition held at CULTURE ON WHEELS events.
Erick Quezada, coordinator of the skate competitions, confirmed that they will keep the amateur and professional categories. He also announced the first half pipe competition to take place in Panama, thanks to PTY RAMP.
Luis Milord and Edissa Yau announced other new attractions this year. Topping the list were the international shows by TEAM EMERICA AND TEAM RAZOR, the latter sponsored by Felix B. Maduro. TEAM EMERICA is composed of top professional skate athletes Leo Romero, Collin Provost, and awesome skater Andrew Reynolds, nicknamed 'The Boss'.
The Figali Convention Center square will be the stage for the rest of the new attractions, such as the motorcycle and modified car clubs of Panama that will be offering a show of their passion for other types of wheels. Another novelty this year is the participation of Parkour Panama and Freestyle Football on the grounds of the center, who will be offering demonstrations and workshops of these two sport styles.
Edisa Yau, co-organizer of the event, announced that the shows everyone enjoyed last year will be back but with new surprises, such as a bboys show, MCs alternating with graffiti artists on stage, and new fighting show by LUCHA LIFE, among other attractions.
Luis Milord, organizer of the event, had the honor of naming the official list of bands playing this year: Pollyphase, Rencilla, and Athica. Performances by the illusionist Jorge Santana and a show by Cosplay Action will be two additional highlights in the on-stage presentations scheduled for the event.
The launch of the new brand CULTURE ON WHEELS is also confirmed to take place at the event. Event souvenirs will be available for purchase at the Culture on Wheels booth inside the fairgrounds.
As every year, the fair will be open for the general public to enjoy the interactive exhibition stands of products and brands, as well as the latest additions by Ciudad Anime.
The organizers of CULTURE ON WHEELS, along with their sponsor NEW ERA, took advantage of the evening to give special recognition to two leading extreme athletes who for years have offered a show of international stature: Rudy Waller and Jason Thorne.
They confirmed that the Panamanian CULTURE ON WHEELS competition is considered the number one extreme sports event for youth in Latin America, and as such the general public, competitors, and media from various countries will be in attendance.
The press conference ended with words of appreciation for the evening's host Itzel Falconett from Power 92.1 and a small exhibition of what will be in store for the day of the event.
