The International Book Fair
The International Book Fair is organized annually by the Panamanian Chamber of Books, a non-profit institution. Since 2001, it has become not only one of the most important cultural events in the country, both for its content and its crowd, more than 80,000 people last year attended. It helps keep the book industry alive and the promotes reading. The fair is a scenario in which writers, publishers, booksellers, and readers, in general, get together, which over the six-day fair, enjoy the experience it offers and the professional programming of the events. Over the years the fair has been to countries like Costa Rica, Chile, Colombia, Spain, Peru, Republic of Uruguay, Dominican Republic, France, and Mexico.
