Jazz Festival

The Panama Jazz Festival aims to inspire and educate while providing tools and opportunities to build a better future for people and their communities. It has also become a center for auditions for admission and scholarships to institutions such as Berklee College of Music, New England Conservatory of Music, the Golandsky Piano Institute, and the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico. Some of the artists featured in the festival include The Wayne Shorter Quartet, Herbie Hancock, Chucho Valdes Quartet, John Patitucci, Joe Lovano, Ruben Blades, Randy Weston, Kenny Barron, Nnenna Freelon, Mike Stern, Lizz Wright, Jack DeJohnette, Stanley Jordan, Billy Cobham, and Ellis Marsalis.

Macro Fest

Attracting more than 5,000 people each year, Macrofest plays a crucial role in showcasing ideas to those established and emerging artists, presenting the new vision of a cultural city and rescue national treasures, like Casco Antiguo.

This feast of creation is being developed for 7 years and will be described as a meeting of visions, ideas, concepts and experiences, which seeks to link in an edgy chain, artistic expressions such as music, fashion, art, design, and film in a dream scenario that is available to the public.

Panamá Gastronómica

Gastronomic Panama Festival has been held for 6 years. Its purpose is to pay tribute to the versatile culinary styles that Panama has to offer. The attending guests receive a wide range of local restaurant cuisines with the most delicious dishes and drinks available. The Day After

After the huge success of the third edition earlier this year, Showpro and Disco Donnie Presents are pleased to announce the return of The Day After Festival on January 15th-17th, 2016. Panama City’s Figali Convention Center will once again play host to more than 40,000 dance music lovers from around the world. The lineup of the tree-day event has become synonymous with well-known international and regional talent covering the gamut of electronic music. Past headliners have included Tiësto, Afrojack, and Martin Garrix while DJs such as Bassjackers, DVBBS, Borgore, W&W, and NERVO have also joined the rosters. After bringing names like Art Department, Damian Lazarus, Claude Vonstroke, and M.A.N.D.Y. for its 2015 debut, the Beatport Stage returns for round two in 2016.

Panama Ink Fest

Panama City Ink Fest is the first and oldest Convention of tattoos in Panama. With seven consecutive years, this event has become one of the most important of its kind in the region. This festival brings together artists from more than 19 countries, from Brazil, United States, Spain, Norway, India and all Central America. Legends of tattoo such as Mr. Brian Everett of Route 66 tattoo, Jayvo Scott of Ink Master, Joey TV from the TV show, Tattoo Rescue are also part of this great event. Another one of the attractions of the festival are on stage presentations, Miss Ink contest, seminars on techniques, training for artists and tattoo contests. The International Book Fair

The International Book Fair is organized annually by the Panamanian Chamber of Books, a non-profit institution. Since 2001, it has become not only one of the most important cultural events in the country, both for its content and its crowd, more than 80,000 people last year attended. It helps keep the book industry alive and the promotes reading. The fair is a scenario in which writers, publishers, booksellers, and readers, in general, get together, which over the six-day fair, enjoy the experience it offers and the professional programming of the events. Over the years the fair has been to countries like Costa Rica, Chile, Colombia, Spain, Peru, Republic of Uruguay, Dominican Republic, France, and Mexico.

Festival Abierto

Festival Abierto has created a platform for exchange between NGOs, artists, painters, musicians, architects, scientists and dancers. For one weekend a year all of them become volunteers to share their knowledge with a perfect environment for the whole family. With over 200 artists, 25 bands, 40 nonprofit organizations and 40 thousand attendees it has confirmed that culture is alive and well and that Festival Abierto's commitment to society is to raise sensitivity for art as a way to communicate, express feelings, ideologies, experiences and memories that Panama needs.

International Film Festival

The International Film Festival of Panama (IFF Panama), started in April of 2012. In this festival, more than 50 films from around the world are projected, for a week. The choice of these films is based on their previous display or awards at the most prestigious film festivals, such as Cannes, Toronto, Sundance and San Sebastián, among others. During this week of exhibitions, the directors of these films visit the country to present their work to the public and participate in question and answer sessions to promote dialogue and understanding between cultures. During this festival, everything the great world of cinema has to offer is in Panama including: premieres, red carpet galas, special events, and parties. With the participation of international film stars, famous personalities and more than 30 international journalists, which together with more than 100 local journalists give the event extensive national and international coverage.

Beerfest

Panama Beerfest began in 2013, the first exhibition was dedicated to beer in our country, it was inspired by the most important beer festivals internationally. It is the largest exhibition of Premium and craft beers of the region, making it the best showcase for traders within Central America. In this festival, you can find more than 200 beer brands gathered in one place, including domestic beers, imported beers, and craft specialty brews. There are interesting talks, classic contests, brewers, excellent music, international cuisine and a good atmosphere for a summer event. Panama Beerfest with the participation of prestigious local bands has coincided the past 2 years with the traditional celebration of St. Patrick's Day.
