The city of Las Tablas was festooned for the occassion of The Parade of a Thousand Polleras, a tradition that has been growing over the years. Ladies dressed in our country's national costume, artists, and government figures took to the main streets of Las Tablas, amidst singing and celebrating, to charm viewers of this important parade. They were adorned in garments delicately and laboriously sewn by hand by Panamanian artisans, proudly exhibiting the customs and traditions of our country that were woven into the fabrics and colorful designs of the outfits. This folclor display was in recognition of the best typical dress at the national and international level: the Panamanian Pollera.
