In order to visit this indigenous territory, it is necessary to travel to Union Choco, its municipal capital. The area is mostly composed of jungle and rivers, so traveling with a guide is recommended. Due to its status as a protected zone, the best way to travel inside this territory is by canoe or piragua. The Embera and Wounaan share a common territory, wear similar clothes, and have similar habits and customs, but they speak a different language. Tourists may request basic lodgings, aquatic transportation for tours inside the territory, guides for tours on foot, horseback or bicycles, and visits to the main rivers. Some even offer the opportunity to join them in harvesting, planting, and fishing.
