Iglesia San José «Altar de Oro»

It is part of the properties of the Augustinian Recollects that moved from Panama Viejo to the new city in 1677, known today as Casco Antiguo.

This colonial structure is a waste of baroque carvings with strong indigenous influences and colonial art. This church has an altar carved in bitter cedar known as "The Golden Altar" presents with 8 Solomon columns, in its main niche is St. Joseph with the child Jesus and other saints who accompany him. Here you can admire the excellent permanent birth made with great dedication.
